Ze is de echo van wie we zijn, en wie we besluiten te worden. Ze legt een hand op onze schouder en zegt: zorg goed voor mij. Want er is geen later. Alleen nu. Ancestors is een interactieve groepservaring van het Smartphone Orchestra, waarin het publiek wordt geleid door hun eigen smartphone. In een collectieve reis vol technologie, verbeelding en verbondenheid reflecteren we op intergenerationele verantwoordelijkheid. Wat geven we door? En wie zijn wij, voorbij de grenzen van onze tijd?
Literatuur beperkt zich niet alleen tot boeken of geschreven tekst, maar is in vele andere vormen te vinden. De voorstelling – of beter gezegd, de ervaring – Ancestors is hier een voorbeeld van. Als deelnemer creëer jij samen met anderen ter plekke het verhaal. Met andere woorden: je bent auteur en personage tegelijkertijd.

In Ancestors, you and your fellow participants tell the stories of those who will come after us, stepping into a future shaped by the actions of today. Together with your coparents, your decisions and interactions shape the narrative and influence the collective outcome of the experience.
