The process of creating fictional worlds is usually left the mercy of the author. The narratives we construct usually abide by the rules we set, as the gods of our stories. But it doesn’t always have to be this way.

Join our workshop for an alternative perspective on the process of worldbuilding. We will examine two contrasting methods of creating a fictional world, and focus on the social, cultural and political realities experienced by the characters and beings within the world. Through two collaborative creative exercises we will practice perspective taking and leverage inconsistencies and contradictions of our emerging world.
