Dichters in de Prinsentuin is een fijne plek voor dichters om elkaar tegen het lijft te lopen, óf om elkaar terug te zien. Dichters Nisrine Mbarki Ben Ayad en Nick Makoha ontmoetten elkaar al eens op een festival in Engeland en zien elkaar weer terug in Groningen. In deze Dichters in Dialoog gaan ze in gesprek over hun eigen en elkaars werk. Beide dichters combineren verschillende werelden in hun werk. Meervoudigheid en de combinatie van thuis, toekomst, en geschiedenis geven hun werk kracht. Ook bespreken ze hoe hun afgelopen jaar als dichter eruit heeft gezien, wat voor Nisrine Mbarki Ben Ayad met het worden van Dichter der Nederlanden en voor Nick Makoha met het uitbrengen van zijn nieuwe, bejubelde bundel The New Carthaginians bewogen tijden zijn geweest.

Dichters in de Prinsentuin is a nice place for poets to run into eachother for the first time, ór to reunite. Poets Nisrine Mbarki Ben Ayad and Nick Makoha met each other before during a festival in England, and will meet again in Groningen. During this Poets in Dialogue, they will engage in conversation about each others and their own work. Both poets combine different worlds in their work. Plurality and the combination of home, future, and history is what strengthens their work. Next to this, they will also share how the last year has been for them as poets, as both of them have had busy years; Nisrine Mbarki Ben Ayad was named Poet Laureate of the Netherlands, and Nick Makoha published his celebrated bundle The New Carthaginians.
