Een tijd geleden kregen we een enthousiast schrijven van pianiste Claire Pendleton:
“My name is Claire Pendleton, and I am a pianist studying at the Prince Claus Conservatory. I am very passionate about engaging new audiences in live piano performances, and my research investigates how themed concerts set in unique places can help audiences to build community with each other. A few months ago, I visited your store for the first time and immediately thought it would be a perfect place for a concert. The space is so welcoming and full of character: I absolutely love how the wood floors and big windows make the space feel inviting, and the fireplace and seating around the store create a relaxed and cozy atmosphere. I also noticed a lovely upright piano!”
Zo’n aanbod slaan wij natuurlijk niet af! Samen met Claire organiseren we wat een bijzondere avond belooft te worden, rondom de piano en rondom de Engelse literatuur. Claire zal haar prachtige pianospel ten gehore brengen door muziek uit populaire verfilmingen van Engelse klassiekers te spelen. Daarnaast gaat ze voorlezen uit de mooiste werken uit de Engelse literatuur, van grootheden als Jane Austen, Charlotte Brontë en Louisa May Alcott.
